I think they can win the East. Mostly because I don't trust any of the teams in the East, including the defensively challenged Nets. And if you can win the conference you have a chance at winning the title. Like last year if it was Bron and AD who got hurt in game 1 instead of Dragic and Bam the Heat win that series even though they weren't the better team.
I will leave RM if either of these two teams win. Bobby Portis and Furkan Korkmaz ain't getting it done for a title winner.
I mean you're probably good, but does this mean that the Nets are the only team that can win the East?

Winning the east does not matter. It would be like if the Bulls won the Central Division.

You just hypothesized the Lakers losing their two best players but this scenario still allows for a healthy Jimmy Butler. Lazy analysis. Gotta pick someone other than Bron.

Yeah. And if KD goes down the Raptors are your 2019 champs. It happens. My only point which is so obvious as to not need to be stated is that contrary to what Verb said it does matter who wins the East because even if they are inferior to the West champ anything, including injuries, can happen to the vastly superior team. The East champs will have a chance of winning the title this year, even if that chance is largely dependent on injuries or something like that.
