I think that's kind of the point.
Agreed. If it doesn't work for you that's totally legit, but it is intentional

It’s devoid of any subtlety, space, or breathing room. Ed dropped a humongous distorted turd right on top of their classic rock riff.

It's a song about fleeing earth for space. The distortion is the point. The weird verboseness is the point.

it very literally gives me ear fatigue. This is not so much a judgement call as it is a physical reaction that I try to make sense out of.

Would you say that it makes you want to have a quick escape?

As Stip said, Quick Escape is as huge as Pearl Jam has sounded on record for years. Very successful melding of classic and modern Pearl Jam- musically, this song would work on Ten. Great showpiece for Jeff at the end. I’ve always wanted them to capture on record the vibe of some of the great live Porch jams that we’ve gotten over the last 10 or so years, and I think the outro to QE does this. Plus, this song was directly responsible for Trump being voted out of office.

Quick Escape.
welcome to the board podunk :)
Thanks! And thanks for setting this up.
