Here’s the thing, and I am one to argue against the grain just cause...but Metallica was great at least from Kill ‘Em All through And Justice For All and I can hear arguments for the black album (though when I went back and revisited it, it did not age well for me). After the Black album, I just didn’t like the direction at all and I never went back. They sort of morphed from a metal band leading the charge to a metal band following the times and losing relevance as a result.

Listening to On the Beach right after Harvest. On the Beach is way way better. Words gives Harvest a fighting chance but goddamn start to finish On the Beach is incredible and blows Harvest away.
