This is actually a pretty easy vote for Last Kiss. I've always found it pretty moving for all its melodrama. It can catch me in the right moment. And Let it Ride has always bored me. I took to Cold Confession immediately (and those two songs dropped while I was in the hospital for two days when my daughter was born so I played them both a lot) but Let it Ride feels like an uninspired plodding mid tempo slog. The lyrics don't interest me, and the performances all feel fairly flat.

I never heard let it ride before .
Last kiss I heard long ago because it's a 1950s song. Tell Laura I love her, billy don't be a hero, etc , going to the chapel, etc.

This is an easy vote for Let It Ride. Last Kiss is better than it gets credit for. It’s a good cover that they cheese out with live but it always works. It is their biggest hit though, as a cover, and for that it gets treated by fans much like deadheads treat Touch of Grey - with contempt. It doesn’t deserve that. But it doesn’t deserve this vote either against an honest to goodness solid Pearl Jam song that should make any Lost Dogs 2.

I always forget that you're not big on LIR.

Re: 34. Let It Ride vs. Last Kiss
Weird matchup.
Last Kiss is a good performance that was cool when it came around. And by now it's also managed to swing back up a bit from "obvious low point of a show" to "fun enough moment of a show that gets *everyone* involved."
My initial reaction was to vote for Let It Ride, but I think that's because it sounds like there's a slightly better song in there somewhere *if* they'd pushed it (these lyrics just don't really connect). And the fact that we got it along with Cold Confession adds to that sense that they were writing good songs that we weren't privy to for a while, but Let It Ride probably isn't actually one of those good songs. It's certainly not great.
So, Last Kiss, I think.

Let it Ride
A shame we never got a proper release of this.

This is pretty difficult; I'm a big fan of Last Kiss. I love the sound of that record (I really wish PJ had done a record this way at least one time), and Eddie sounds fantastic. But Let it Ride is a stunning song, and the closing half to it is probably rivaled only by the end of Dance as my favorite moment of PJ music in the last decade. It gets my vote.

Let it Ride and for me it’s not remotely close.

Re: 34. Let It Ride vs. Last Kiss
I don't hate Last Kiss nearly as much as some do. But when it shows up at a show I'm at, I'm disappointed. I'd rather hear just about anything else in that spot, including the song it's facing here.
