Sigh, forgot this issue happened here in good ol' CT

Buxton and Omnipollo stand by ‘Yellow Belly’ beer’s message after backlash

It was actually a phenomenal beer.

It's been a over a year since I've enjoyed a pint of beer at a bar/restaurant.

My favorite local has a back patio. They are open. It is 63 degrees outside to day.

We have another couple we are friends with who have both been vaccinated.

Today we will go sit outside at my old favorite neighborhood joint and enjoy a fucking cold beer in a fucking pint glass.

I can not wait.

Curse you, doug!

I still have never gotten my hands on a pliny.

Doug: Pliny is (a) overrated, (b) underrated, or (c) properly rated.

Just my two cents, but I would take a blind pig over a Pliney any day.

There isn't a huge amount of difference between Blind Pig and Pliny in the recipe, what I know anyway, but I do prefer Pliny. I'm finding that 8% ABV is a really grand divide for IPAs, many I try that are even just a touch over seem to through off the balance a lot.

I mean it’s fine. But I will never understand the infatuation with Pliny. I continue to believe that if it was readily available it would be good, but nothing great.

Having never even tried it, I already feel like I agree with this. Expectations way too high at this point.

Blind Pig ... where is that made/sold? Hard to find?

I feel Pliny the Elder is just a spot-on representation of the style. I don't seek it out but if I see it on draft it is guaranteed I will be ordering a glass.

Blind Pig is also made by Russian River, so the same distro channels as Pliny... which isn't much.

He can order a case of each online and ship 'em out a pair at a time.

That's okay as long as he leaves a few bottles on the porch for me to pick up and take back to the hotel.
