Every boy that enjoys typically feminine things or that is questioning whether he might be gay gets the clear message that you're going to be the butt of jokes in the Troop?

No, I'm hoping that Scouts won't make sexual orientation or gender the butt of jokes regardless of how they, themselves happen to fit onto the spectrum, so that kids can come to events for 1 hour a week and 1 weekend a month without being scared of being mocked by the kids that they elected to lead their Troop.

But, that probably doesn't fit into your caricature of an over-reaching liberal hoping that we all get forced to try gay sex by 2030.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Honest question: How different is a troop meeting than a regular day at their respective schools?

No.

That children would call you out when you are showing bias.

Was I showing bias?

I would think I was looking out for kids that may be silently uncomfortable because I don't know who might feel judged by that song nor does my bisexual Scout, but it's certainly likely that SOMEONE in the Troop feels judged or may take our allowing that song as permission to make jokes about people whose gender expression or sexual orientation falls outside of the norm.

If I was a kid I would certainly feel uncomfortable around a boy scout troop, but not really for any of the reasons being discussed here.

Well, I wasn't referring to the molestation as "stupid shit." I was thinking about BSA's response.

But yeah, lots of training and background checks and mandatory reporting and rules about who can be around who. That's all been in place for as long as my kid has been in Scouts, about 8 years.

PS - Burt, put this shiz in the Star Wars forum.
So this happened today: Co-worker above called me to report that someone else in the company, using company email, sent her a pronoun joke and she feels very attacked. Likened it to a racial or religious slight, and on that point I agree with her. Totally inappropriate. But now I’m just like ... uh what the fuck am I supposed to do with this. She didn’t give me the person’s name. I didn’t ask.
Now I want to know what the joke was.

I didn’t ask. But I did prep an official memo about our harassment policy that will be going out next week.

So you basically know nothing of the situation but feel the need to act to justify your job. Try not doing anything and telling her to get back to work.

I’m not clear what he did. He said something racist in an interview? I’m not clicking on tmz to find out

That the first BIPOC Bachelor picked the 'racist' girl and it turns out Chris was clumsily protecting what he knew was the ending is just...

Weird that he focused on the guy's name. I can't think of a worse determiner of race or culture than someone's last name.
