I have a cousin who is a media studies teacher who's never watched it because she doesn't like how women are portrayed in it. I ask her how she knows how women are portrayed if she's never watched it and she told me that she knows. My point is two-fold. Also, since when is how much money one makes a measure of the validity of their profession? If a job is a joke, a job is a joke. I don't care if you make a million dollars. Buying a stock option on Monday and selling it on Wednesday for a million dollars profit is a joke job. Adjuncting undergrad liberal arts classes for 36k a year is a joke job. Growing potatoes and spinach is not a joke
