Young, insecure Stip has matured just enough to be able to appreciate Sirens or Call Me Maybe but this is a whole step beyond.
you didn't finish reading my post. Crap may still just be crap
I never read the last sentence, that's usually where you try to pretend that you weren't really saying all the things you actually wanted to say.

nope, it's just my standard 'this may not apply to you, Digster (or Speeno), I think you're a careful and good faith listener' comment. it came up a lot during backspacer debates.

I like that you didn't specify which song he's talking about

I wasn't sarcastic. I think we could totally picture him saying that about any song he likes.

the fixer was like that really strong undergraduate research project that you submit as your writing sample for grad school.

The second verse of Lightning Bolt takes the bridge of the fixer and turns it into the song I always knew it could be.

I'm sure if I read my undergrad thesis now I'd cringe.

Gods' Die wrote:Haha...God bless him. I think music is not objective, its very nature is in subjectivity.

That being said, I almost feel that Backspacer is an objectively shitty album. I've said that about so few albums in my time...and then Stip likes that record more than No Code which is in my top ten records of all time (at worst!).

That's quite a dichotomy. Fuckit, if he likes the stuff let him go crazy with it.
I almost think there is no such thing as an objectively shitty album. Taste is an infinite spectrum, right?

I'm an Eddie believer, but damn if you can't say this about him!
