I don't think any album so perfectly captures the sort of fin-de-siecle decadence and cultural exhaustion of the early 2000s like this one.

Deafheaven - New Bermuda
I experience a form of ego death about four minutes into the second track.

Mount Eerie - Lost Voices.
Hard choice between this and The Glow Pt. 2 but this sparse little album is one of the most beautiful bits of songwriting I've ever heard.

Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway
Koz is a piece of shit but the epic scope of this album is really something else.

The Knife - Silent Shout
I don't have a write-up. It's good.
