So I'm renting a sod cutter to get my old grass up before laying new sod in the front yard. Just watched a couple of videos and I'm extremely intimidated now.

It's not too bad, but a hell of a workout.

I don't mind a workout. The Home Depot video made it look extremely complicated flipping knobs and levers and all that mumbo jumbo.

Most likely. Getting a covid vaccine in the morning and then sod-cutting later in the day. I pretty much have a 1% survival probability.

I need to replace the cartridge in a bathtub, and this video makes it seem really easy. I'm just scared to death b/c I have to shut off all the water in the house to do it. If I get it pulled apart, and can't get it back together right, then I can't turn the water back on until I get a plumber to come save me.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

My advice is to bathe right before you do this, just in case the plumber takes a few days.

My father in law comes back up from Florida next month. Maybe I'll just let it drip until then.

Depends on the house. We have a pex system so it's really easy to shut off individual outlets.

tragabigzanda wrote:i don't think this is true, though i might be wrong. But there's like a shutoff valve for that particular faucet, or maybe the entire bathroom. I'd think if you had to turn the main supply back on, you could leave that one off and it would be fine?
If there is a shut-off for that bathtub or bathroom, I don't know where it is. I guess I should try to find it. The only guess I would have is the crawlspace, but it's a second floor bathroom, so that would be weird.

Weird that toilets and sinks have a shut off, but not the bathtubs/showers.
