You should at least have an easy access shut off valve for the whole house water. Ours is in the garage.

Is there an access panel to the pipes and whatnot in the room behind the shower? Like our hall closet has a square of drywall we can remove to get to the bathroom plumbing.

Re: The Home Improvement Thread
Our old rental was supposed to have an access panel but our dipshit landlord had caulked it shut and also not put any insulation in that wall, so when our shower pipes froze we had no access to them. Very smart guy.

If you're wondering why the shower pipes ran through an uninsulated exterior wall such that you would even consider caulking the access panel shut, well, us too.

I'll have to nose though my closets before I shut off the main valve, but I don't think this tub has a shut off.ghost wrote:Is there an access panel to the pipes and whatnot in the room behind the shower? Like our hall closet has a square of drywall we can remove to get to the bathroom plumbing.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

So this bid came in at just under $40kBammer wrote:My buddy recently replaced his back yard grass with Dream Turf. I checked it out today and it’s fucking awesome.
Want.
He paid $15k and based on yard size I’d probably be looking at $50k.
I started laying the foundation with Mrs. Bam on how to pay for it...

I can't imagine that being worth the cost.

Re: The Home Improvement Thread
I'm sure it would look fine for several years but does it start to fade or degrade over time? I'm picturing those rubber playgrounds and basketball courts. After enough time goes by they look faded.

Re: The Home Improvement Thread
I don’t need it to look perfect forever.
I do want the surface to perform and feel functional for a very long time though.
Biggest appeals in order:
- no more dirt/mud tracked into house
- it’s dry like 30 minutes after it rains
- being dry right away will encourage kids to use it more often, rains a lot here
- no more mowing or pulling weeds
