I am in a good chili peppers moment. Feeling like going back to pre-Frusciante days, but recognize that Mother’s Milk and BSSM are special albums.

Listened to the first half of Uplift Mofo Party Plan today. They had so much energy back then. Skinny Sweaty Man is one of the most ludicrous songs I can recall.

This is the album George Clinton produced, right? The energy and the funk and goddamnit Flea’s playing is amazing.

No, that's Freaky Styley.

Uplift Mofo was produced by Michael Beinhorn, same as Mother's Milk.

It's also the only RHCP studio album with Jack Irons on drums.

Thanks. Makes sense actually - I listened to Mother’s Milk the other day and can see some similarities.

I love Jack in that album. Behind The Sun is one of my favs from any era, and Jack rules so hard on that one.

I actually like Uplift´s sound and kinda hate Mother´s Milk.

I really love Mother’s Milk. It’s the perfect segue between the early years and those prime years that basically encompass Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

I like One Hot Minute and all, but to me RHCP was like the yodeler on the Price is Right coming up the hill but then fall off the cliff before they started over with Californication. Uplift —> MM —> BSSM is an incredible time for this band.
