If you're still looking at the less-expensive end of things, the new Epiphone Rivieras seem great:Bammer wrote:I will probs still get a semi-hollow because I am a collector now

These only came out a few months ago, so there's probably not too many around on the used market just yet.

I’m still a couple months out from fully decluttering the garage, painting it, putting up proper shelves and THEN hanging guitars on the wall.doug rr wrote:will they be lined up behind you on the zoom call? don't forget the pineapple and sunflowersBammer wrote:I will probs still get a semi-hollow because I am a collector now

Re: Gearhead Thread
That little Peavey doesn’t really work anymore. Just hasn’t found its way to the dumpster yet.
The bigger ones though are the PA system I’ve had for like 25 years. The mic is ... old ... but the amp & speakers still work great. Never needed a bass guitar amp.

Re: Gearhead Thread
Ok, I’m definitely getting one of these two. The one above, I haven’t tried out yet. The one below here is what I tried today and loved it. The one below has larger body, no tremolo, and a tortoise shell pick guard which I’m partial to.
Main decision is tremolo or not...

a pretty good rule of thumb on tremolos is that if you aren't sure if you need one or not...you don't.Ello Sailor wrote:Fuck a trem tbh.
I really like those Gretsch jet models. I've been gassing on a double jet, but i'd take a single one too. I'm not normally a tremolo guy but in this instance that's where i'm leaning.

I say no tremolo. I’ve got an old Chet Atkins model from the mid-60’s and it also has a Bigsby tremolo. Damn thing doesn’t stay in tune for shit. It’s why I never play it.
