Admittedly, I haven't read much but from what I have it seems like a shockingly foolish decision. And even as they lift the suspensions it's hard to imagine that this won't have a negative effect going forward.
I havent seen anything. Perhaps it was a way to force the EU regulators to reassure people it's safe in light of increasing anti-vax sentiment over there. Or maybe it's competitors in that market using their political weight to fuck with AZ.
The UK is kicking some ass with their delaying of the second dose, and no issues with blood clots there.
Finally, keep in mind that one of Britain’s main vaccines has been AstraZeneca’s — the same one that some other European countries have stopped using this week, out of concern over blood clots. But there is no sign of an increase in clots in Britain. “If the choice is potentially being exposed to Covid-19, or getting the vaccine & being protected, choose the vaccine,” Devi Sridhar, a professor of public health at the University of Edinburgh, wrote yesterday.
she was also born with a lobster claw in place of a left hand which will serve her well when the ice caps melt!!!!!!

She’s spent the last 6 weeks on a ventilator and last week they called her kids in to make the choice. They wanted to give her every available chance but alas..

I don't get a good sense of what their obligations are there. I assume that in "occupied" territories they are required by international law (in so much as they care about that) to vaccinate eventually but not necessarily in time with their citizenry.

In a way, this kind of sums up the whole conflict (specifically, why after decades it’s only worse).
