Though that guy bought me these tickets for my birthday. He's great like that.
I thought you were proposing at one of those shows during Betterman.

Haha. Trying to make that happen. It's about finances and somehow getting my other half off work without him knowing.
:hooray:

Three weeks out from tour and still no announcements for openers for East shows, specifically the ones I'm attending--Worcester I and Hartford. What's the general consensus with this?

I really dont give a damn about opening acts, if it ends up being a good band thats great, but you dont hear people saying stuff like "PJ was really good, but the opening act kind of sucked."

I don't want an opening band, that's my point! Just want confirmation that there won't be one. Ahaha.

It's a different Midlake though, they have a new singer and it seems they're going for a more electric sound (based on the first sample off their new album).

its better but still a little mellow for me, but i dig the 70s feel

i bet they sound better at an outdoor festival while you cook and buzz in the sun

"Pulido has hinted that "Provider" is less folky and probably more representative of the all the members of the band. I find it a strong listen, which makes me eager to spend time with the new album. But I'm also looking forward to the band's tour!

Antiphon is the fourth album from this Denton, Texas group. Each of Midlake's full-lengths has had it's own character, though they share an affinity for the '70s, when progressive rock and bold musical themes ruled. This album feels dreamy in a psychedelic way. But, like music from the classic band The Moody Blues, even the spacier moments still hold on to melody and structure.

Anitphon is due out Nov. 5 on ATO Records. It's the first album from Midlake since former frontman Tim Smith left the group late last year."

wanted to add this: think opening for PJ is a big deal for them?

Nov 02 Airwaves Reykjavik, Iceland
Nov 15 American Airlines Center Dallas, TX
Nov 16 Chesapeake Energy Arena Oklahoma City, OK
Feb 20 The Ritz Manchester, United Kingdom

leave Iceland, come back play dallas and okc and then off to UK

I would say its a pretty big deal for them
