Otherside is super cool, with tons of great stuff happening, but damn Release is something else.

The music for Otherside is interesting, but it's never clicked for me - the combo of Ed's performance and Jeff's lyrics don't really work for me. And Release is another one of those songs (up there with Jeremy and RVM) that deserves to win one of these

Agreed. Always loved this song.

A few years ago, I was running on the beach in Maine early in the morning. So the sun was still coming up, the sea on the horizon, and I had Ten playing on headphones - all of this was great and cool and working for me. Then Release comes on in this background. Something about the power and message - the call to the heavens - it was overwhelming. I am still running but choking back tears and just lost in this. That experience has never left me and this might just be my all time favorite Pearl Jam song as a result.
