TV: The Walking Dead

Ugh, an episode devoted to one of the most annoying characters on the series. I guess there was some information on the commonwealth but I likely fast forwarded through it.
Decent cliff hanger at the end though and next week looks promising. Or at least to be better.

Im guessing we wont' revisit the commonwealth for at least another 4 episodes though, right?

Another episode that probably wasn’t necessary. This run wraps next week with Neagan’s backstory so that could be good.
I mentioned I know a guy who’s been been an extra for several seasons now. Sometimes he’s been in the background as various towns folk but usually he’s a walker and this afternoon he posted a couple stills to his Insta. This time he was easy to pick out; he was the first walker Carol killed. He said the Carol/Darryl episodes were the first ones shot once production started back. He also said he unknowingly fell onto an ant nest after being “killed”.

Way too much Carol in this one. I don't know how that spinoff is gonna work with such an uninteresting chatacter.

Great episode. Negan may be the only one i care about and Morgan maybe is the only one that can shoulder an entire episode.

i hate that the season ended on a backstory like that but whatever.

It was nice to see the old Negan back for a few scenes, Jeffrey Dean got a chance to show off his acting chops.

Decent start to the final season. Good zombie sequence to open with two subplots taking up the rest of the episode. One had Princess/Ezekiel/Eugene in the Commonwealth but the much better one dealt with Maggie and Negan as part of a mission team in a subway tunnel with Daryl. Obviously they’re going to rachet as much tension out of that dynamic as they can.
Episode ended with walkers and an almost literal cliff hanger.
