Not by a mile or anything, but it's the one that struck a chord most with me on first listen. There's usually one or two like that every album. Just for some recent perspective, Severed Hand and Unemployable from S/T and really nothing from BS, but Got Some was probably closest, followed by Supersonic (despite the god awful lyrics).harmless wrote:This is your favourite? Hoping that at least one other of the unheard songs from LB does the trick as well.

Great name, by the way. I hope you're not still waiting in that hotel room.

I think it would be funny if the last shot of BB is Huell waiting in the hotel room saying "ok, I'm waiting five more minutes then I'm leaving"Huell wrote:I am indeed, just re watching episodes for tonight's episode..... Guys, can I just say that if this little discussion of BB turns into spoilers for tonight's episode, I will throw. The Fuck. Down. Otherwise, go nuts.

I actually hopes it leaks really late, so there's less time for me to wait between people posting all their reactions, and me actually listening to it on release day.harmless wrote:Has this leaked yet?

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
I haven't had time to be here in a bit, so I just glanced at the last few pages. One thing I want to say:
Eddie's voice: the man has been singing his ass off for a quarter century, not to mention that he smokes and presumeably drinks a little bit. That said, he still has an incredible voice--I'm blown away by the degree to which the man's every syllable, vocal styling, lyrical idea, etc. is picked apart on here. He'll never be able to win--it must kinda suck. My Pearl Jam-loving friends who don't come to these boards are still blown away by how great he sounds and that he "hasn't lost it." My point is: Pearl Jam is WAYYY more enjoyable if you take Ed's voice for what it is. 95% of it, for me, was always the sincerity, and I still hear it in every single note.

You're right, it's much easier to enjoy Pearl Jam if you turn off all of your critical faculties.
I don't think anyone's criticised Ed's voice on this album, as much as Brendan O'Brien's mixing of it.
