really low on Marty's list of output
Don't know that I agree. There were so many beautiful scenes (especially the dream in the apartment). DiCaprio and Kingsley were great. Solid mid tier.
hard agree. there's a lot to admire in this film.

Got a week and a half off starting after work today. Going to be busy on baby duty as always of course. She just went to sleep for the night. Wife’s at work. Made a little sandwich, and put on a movie. Feels good.

First time seeing Black Mass.

Really enjoyed the beginning of the movie, but ultimately it’s a little disappointing. It tries to cover too much ground, but lacks real focus. Depp is excellent, and the movie has an interesting look, so it’s a shame that it falls short compared to any top rate gangster film from the past few decades.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I need to watch City of God.
Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorites.
Miller’s Crossing is prime Coen. Love the Coen’s.
City Of God is a solid movie. Haven’t seen it in a decade or more.
I enjoyed Eastern Promises as well, a positive surprise, just a couple of years ago.

I don't particularly care for the gangster label here but Pulp Fiction is easily one of my favorite films. There was a humanity that I found in his earlier screenplays that I can honestly say I could not really find until Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.

I was dying, but I love Eric Andre. Tiffany Haddish was super funny too, she committed to everything 100%.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

Perhaps the most famous 90s movie I’ve never seen before today. Remember my brother hating it so much, I never did see it.

Didn’t like it much either. Perhaps my timing was off. Had to have the sound low, and it’s early in the day. Perhaps with regular sound and a few beers late at night would have been better.
