I learned two interesting things about Young Shakespeare this week--it was recorded just 3 days after the Massey Hall show (which is why it might sound a bit same-y) and the DVD that came out with Massey Hall was actually video of the Young Shakespeare show with the Massey Hall audio on top of it.Kevin Davis wrote:I've listened to Young Shakespeare a few times this week -- doesn't feel as essential as some other Archives releases from this general period (Massey Hall, Cellar Door), but it's still very enjoyable. Neil in fine voice singing one excellent song after another in a quiet, intimate setting -- checks all my boxes.
Way Down in the Rust Bucket, though -- now that's an album.
And, yeah, we do have a bunch of shows from this period and it'd be nice to branch out a bit, but (1) it's just so damn enjoyable to just throw it on and listen to and (2) Rust Bucket came out like 3 weeks ago, so who are we to complain?
