Gigaton is the Pearl Jam album I fall asleep to most often, but in a pleasant way?

Vitalogy
No Code
Gigaton
Vs.
Ten
Yield
Binaural
Pearl Jam
Riot Act
Backspacer
Lightning Bolt

This is tough every time, but I think this is the first time I've moved Vitalogy into the top spot over No Code... for the time being.

This album has moved up another rung for me (it started out in 9th), but it might be near impossible for it to get top 5.

Those two albums are really so great. Even when they move up and down the list, if someone magically appeared and asked me to teach them about the Pearl Jams I would like steer them there in understanding their capacity for greatness, and likely to Yield and Vs. if they wanted to know what Pearl Jam sounds like.

Happy belated birthday GIGATON

I still remember listening to the leak(sorry guys) for the First time. Uploaded to my ITunes with 15 minutes to spare before heading work.

Itunes was set to shuffle so after Who Ever Said which I loved and was losing my mind a bit. I didn’t realise “Alright” even started until Ed started singing. And same for the next .... and I ended going with it.

Anyway it was a beautiful sunny Australian morning I had a spring in my step.

At home : Who Ever Said Alright Comes Then Goes

Walk to train station: Buckle Up & Quick Escape

Jam Packed Train Ride: Retrograde & Never Destination

Jumping off the train: Take The Long Way

Waiting for my coffee: River Cross

Walk To work: Seven Oclock

It wasn’t what I planned but it was cool. It kind of worked. And I loved it and remember it fondly.

The production just captures it all perfectly. Straight away from the build of the opening to Who Ever Said I thought BOB would of cut that and just gone with that big opening riff.

Back In the days when I went to work :-)

no code/yield
vitalogy
vs
ten
pearl jam
binaural
riot act
LB
Backsapcer

I want to rank Gigaton right around the vs/ten rankings. i'm having a hard time comparing an album that just came out to albums that i've been in love with since my childhood. i vividly remember the morning vs came out, going in my brothers room to see it b/c he got it at midnight. even hearing 'go' for the first time weeks before that. ten is ten. my favorite pj song consistently has been 'porch'. i've loved these songs for close to 30 years. i dunno if i'm still feeling the effects of a brand new album, but it says a lot about Gigaton to even think about putting it that high.

Vitalogy
Binaural
Riot Act
No Code
Gigaton
*Lost Dogs*
Yield
Vs.
Ten
S/T

Lightning Bolt
Backspacer

This is how I'd rank them at the moment. I like the Backspacer/Lightning Bolt material waaaayyyyyy better in a live setting. A year later and Gigaton is only gonna climb as it ages. It's definitely the best sounding album on headphones since RA. I hope the part 2 speculation isn't just wishful thinking and we get another album within the next 3-5 years or so. The 1 lung on the spine really does add fuel to the theory that there'll be another lung at some point. :?:

I agree. It definitely looks like there should be a 2nd lung.

Jeff told that this picture is the only shot from the album sessions, so probably no footage is available for an EPK... but they could release something from the Rehearsals in early 2020
