Really like them both. Great performances in both - one by the full band and one by Eddie carrying the song. Some of it may be the comparative recency, some of it may be that I'm a lyrics guy, but I think I'm giving this to Comes then Goes.

Although Betterman is better than both of these

vote for the new song. again, i think this shows the strength of the new stuff. can't keep is a great album and concert opener, even when its just ev by himself. i dunno if its the subject matter, or the production with the guitars, but i love comes then goes. ev also sounds great and the lyrics are painfully beautiful.

Can't Keep is still a favorite opener of mine; I love how the song threatens to spill over the brim at the end of each chorus only for Eddie to strangle that last moment of release. I like that that was a choice they were willing to make (and it certainly lends credence to the idea that Riot Act's approach is a stylistic decision). I do like Comes Then Goes, but some of the lyric writing, to me at least, feels kind of stilted, and when the song is as sparse as that one is, it draws your attention that much more.

i like both of them, and CTG might had one of the best lyrics out there, but Cant Keep is the winner here, mostly because it features the whole band re arranging a ed solo tune and making magic.

Comes Then Goes is (from what I remember) very boring.
