Comatose x1000. Take the Long Way has a nice solo and those great backing vocals, but the rest of the song feels fairly run of the mill to me.

Comatose is 3 minutes of snarling spitting fury, with an absolutely seething bridge, great solo, that go fuck yourself transition into the second verse, and excellent lyrics that say a lot in a way that is surprisingly deft given the rest of the album. It was the perfect 06 response to the fog of Riot Act, waking up to a world that is finally starting to realize that George Bush is exactly the fuckwit you knew him to be from jump, and how liberating it is to realize you are no longer alone in thinking it. It is a two and a half minute repudiation of 6 years of politics. Just an incredible song

Comatose is great, but TTLW is better.

Comatose ain’t great. It’s pretty grating to listen to. Take the Long Way is really damn good. Crazy easy vote.

I'm going with Comatose. I don't know if I'd go as far as stip does, but it's a good song; I particularly like that gnarled guitar break Mike and Stone have, and when Ed was able to hit this in 2006 it was a fun song to hear in a set.

I need to listen to these I think.

And Comatose gets this pretty easily.

Comatose is a great rocker but the emotional pandemic-times connection I have to Take The Long Way makes it the easy choice here.

Take the Long Way represents everything that I hate about modern-day Pearl Jam.

A cerebral, off-kilter Matt Cameron song is emblematic of what you hate about modern-day Pearl Jam?

That's pretty weird.

I don't think Ed has ever sounded worse than he does on Comatose (maybe WWS). Easy vote for Take the Long Way.

It doesn't feel particularly cerebral or off kilter to me. There are things that I usually don't like about Matt's writing that I still associate with him, but this doesn't really feel that much like a Matt Cameron song
