Oh man - I remember trading the Alive Promo cassette (which I found at a Goodwill for .79 cents) for a bunch of bootlegs back in '02 and getting the 2 Spring '02 Ed solo shows as part of the deal. I've loved "Can't Keep" since I heard it on those. CTG is a good song and I love it - particularly how well Ed's guitar tone was recorded, but Can't Keep is still in my Top 5-10 PJ songs.

I've never been able to make myself like Can't Keep very much.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: 219. Can't Keep vs. Comes Then Goes
I voted for Comes Then Goes, but it wasn't an easy decision. Both of these songs are wonderful and really mean a great deal to me. I want both to win and advance.
But I fully leaned into recency bias as the tie-breaker on this one.
I'll be happy with either winning and bummer with either losing.

I like "Comes Then Goes" just fine, though it doesn't bowl me over. "Can't Keep" is a perfect pace and mood-setting song for Riot Act, and I have very fond memories of my first few listens in college. It's also the last representative of that album in this tournament, so on those counts it gets my vote.

What a travesty. I had no idea. I'm changing my vote to Can't Keep.

I know, it's wild. I would've thought that maybe "You Are," "Cropduster," or "Ghost" might be still hanging around, but here we are.epilogue wrote:This is last Riot Act song???Brett wrote:I like "Comes Then Goes" just fine, though it doesn't bowl me over. Didn’t realize this was the last RA song in this tourney. Have to give it my vote.

I wish Stone was playing the guitar on Comes Then Goes. Not that Ed doesn't sound good, I just think it'd be cool, like a modern day Footsteps.

And then inexplicably it can be re-released with harmonica added in.Leatherhead wrote:I wish Stone was playing the guitar on Comes Then Goes. Not that Ed doesn't sound good, I just think it'd be cool, like a modern day Footsteps.
