I think we can show the boy without featuring the boy. Rebels did it well. I’d be cautious about giving him lines or anything that puts him in the story too much. Probably just to remind audiences why obi wan is there at all. You can do that without making a scene.

Then Again, Luke does seem to know him in a new hope. So maybe that conflict between Owen and Ben we’ve seen in the books, gets played on screen too.

Would be strange if there was no Luke at all. But agree that his involvement will probably be limited.

I just heard this is now only 4 episodes. Not 6

That’s even worse. Do we need that much cast for such a slim window?

If each episode is 40-50 minutes, I have no problem with only 4 episodes. One of my biggest critiques of modern "TV" is how padded everything is.

Fair point.
There can’t be a moment of flab in this. Still wonder is this much cast necessary but let’s go.

You're going to find, dime, that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Because they’ve shied away from showing really anything of his life before he first appeared in the first movie.

Yeah but that's all grown up Luke. I can't imagine they give a shit about baby Luke. Also, there's dialog in the OT suggesting that Luke has had some kind of knowledge and/or interaction with Ben. I think it would be weird not to do it. Especially after how well the Mando stuff was received.

I didn’t say they shouldn’t. And I’m all for them doing it. I was just saying that in all the TV shows and all the books and comics and shit, nothing of Luke’s life has ever been shown prior to that first shot in the first movie. It just seemed like Luke and Leia’s formative years were verboten. So, I was kinda surprised when I found out he would be in this.

There’s an entire book about leias youth and teenage years. It’s quite good.
I guess given her circumstances there’s far more interesting room to play in with her. Whereas Luke’s stuck on a farm.

We know he races with his friends. That’s about it.
