Looking at the vote totals for this round vs prior rounds, we either picked about 20 more participants all of a sudden, or someone is using multiple accounts to swing this for IMT, and is voting in the other matchups this round to cover the tracks.
I 100% suspect it’s Argo.

The 60+ votes happened last round too with another matchup. I think some just bring in more than others?

Very vocal minority of Dance-lovers. How high would you place it against all PJ songs?

Still too new to fully rank, but right now I would have it in my top 10. Might climb or drop a bit after some live performances.Anders wrote:Very vocal minority of Dance-lovers. How high would you place it against all PJ songs?

Top ten isn’t bad. Not quite that high for me, but a very good song at this time of their career.

I haven't used that ranker since Gigaton was released. It would probably be in my current top 10, maybe even top 5, but it's hard to balance that against the history. is it a better song than Corduroy - probably not. But I've been listening to Corduroy for 25 years. Would I sooner put on Dance right now - absolutely. Is there another song that has the same impact - there are only a coupleAnders wrote:Very vocal minority of Dance-lovers. How high would you place it against all PJ songs?

Some of it is also the song it's up against. At its best, In My Tree was a very good pearl jam song. This was an easy vote for me. I've been more impacted by dance than I ever was by In My Tree. I doubt IMT is even in my top 30. The way RM swooned over this song came as a complete shock to me when I first started posting regularly. If it was up against a different song I'd have more to think about.

I like what I like, and I vote how I want. And I don't care what either of you think about it.epilogue wrote:Oh me too, friendE.H. Ruddock wrote:This thread is pissing me off
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Both off these songs are masterpieces!VinylGuy wrote:Jesus, dance is a wonderful masterpiece, RM is worst than the Pit.
As far as I'm concerned this is the final. Whichever song wins here, wins the whole thing.

I think Dance is better than Corduroy. So I can't really be upset that anyone would think it's better than In My Tree.stip wrote:I haven't used that ranker since Gigaton was released. Re: 228. Dance of the Clairvoyants vs. In My Tree
Here's the thing, I'm used to In My Tree exiting this tournament too early. It happens every year so I know I can handle it and I'll be fine.
I'm not sure some of you can handle Dance losing here. Also, I love Dance. More importantly, I love what the song means to the band and their sonic legacy. Most importantly, I love what it's meant to our little community. It deserves to win the whole tournament for no other reason than being a thing we can largely agree on this late in PJ's career.
So in the spirit of community and celebration of a shared joy (and as an apology to Ruddo for the way I behaved last year) I'm officially changing my vote to Dance.
As a compromise, I'm also changing my vote from Animal to In The Moonlight in their match. Y'all do whatever you want. But if you feel like doing the same, in a similar spirit of unity and celebration, that would be cool. But that's all up to you. Follow your three crooked hearts.

You know, after giving it some thought, I've decided to switch my vote to "Dance" as well. Sure, I may feel it's a pretty boring song, but I like how it's united the board. It's good that we all have a new Pearl Jam song we can all unite behi

Whoa.
Sorry, I blacked out for a second into a state of utter spinelessness. Glad to see everyone's voting for the song they sincerely like best, and hope no one's not getting all bent out of shape about it
