I'm thrilled with DotC, but I can't vote against In My Tree.

Is losing to In My Tree really that strange? It'd be one thing if it was getting pummeled by Supersonic or Soon Forget, or something like that.

Sorry, I blacked out for a second into a state of utter spinelessness. Glad to see everyone's voting for the song they sincerely like best, and hope no one's not getting all bent out of shape about it

My subtle ploy to get more votes for In The Moonlight has backfired. I did not see this coming.

I thought for sure the backhanded "toughen up, wusses" part of my post would be the thing that got me in trouble.

It's pretty misogynistic, ep. :shake:

Take it up with the theorists who came up with the concept, not the RMer who identified it in a song and said he liked it

The whining drove me mad. Nah, this is actually kind of fun to see how passionate everyone can get about their favorite songs. These are both singular tracks in the Pearl Jam catalog and both high on my favorites list, but it's gotta go to "In My Tree."

It paints an expressive picture musically with its series of repeating, punchy climaxes and soaring glissando notes. The way the song gets this sort of wavery shimmering quality as it nears the end is one of my favorite moments in any of the band's music and it always moves me.

I really do love "Dance" as well, especially for what it shows this group is still capable of at this late stage in their career. I'm not bothered by its pastiche as Pearl Jam have made a career out of sometimes chasing these odd little paths.

I’d like to apologise to Jorge that I implied he was a rock dinosaur (twice).
