I think "let people enjoy things" is actually a pretty popular musical opinion, I think the mods should move some posts.

Sometimes we talk shit on bands. Sometimes it's a total pile-on. Continuing to enjoy said artists in spite of this builds character, Ms. Harmless.

If you saw Mickey's last.fm from his teens you'd be laughing your ass off. It's all just a bit of fun/shitposting.

Sure that's true but I can also understand why it would be annoying to be laughed at just for saying you enjoy a band. That's some 2005 internet shit

Mickey is 2005 internet, though, and he's an integral part of the OB ecosystem.

If VinylGuy and I still listen to Smashing Pumpkins, then Ms. Harmless can still listen to Evanescence.

I don't see what any of this has to do with me.

thanks, Jorge

"let people enjoy things" implies "without ruthlessly mocking their enjoyment, by laughing, schoolyard bullying, etc."

"let people enjoy things" may not be a hot take but some people aren't able to do it here, and it has a bigger impact on them than some of you know or care about

I put my post here because I'm pleasantly surprised by an album I wasn't exactly anticipating; as a whole I've moved on from Evanescence

I thought my pleasant surprise might be picked up, and mutually enjoyed

but some people are just about measuring their musical dicks in front of others

Evanescence is not my cup of tea but glad you're enjoying it.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Personally I measure my musical dick in the privacy of my home office, can't speak for other folks tho.
