This live version especially accentuates the space each instrument occupies and the way each works to interlock and strengthen the others, including Ed's vocals.
I love everyone's timing and its mastery of tension.
The song is all about interplaying textures, and at the same time builds a coherent atmosphere/world/narrative/vibe/not-sure-what-the-word-is that's greater than its parts.

I'd be surprised if this makes sense to anyone else on here... but all of the above points plus the lyrics plus the prominent, repetitious tremolo? guitar riff might make this PJ's raviest song and I love it.
