From wiki : They like to see themselves as "a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody."[3]conoalias wrote:I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't heard of Tame Impala.

Tame Impala are pretty great, and they put on a hell of a live show. "Lonerism" wasn't really my cup of tea, though.

I saw Tame Impala touring their EP and first album and they were fairly boring live. That was about 2009/10 though. They must've improved a hell of a lot.theplatypus wrote:Tame Impala are pretty great, and they put on a hell of a live show. "Lonerism" wasn't really my cup of tea, though.

The John Mayer album is fantastic. Have you listened to it or do you just dislike Mayer because of some song that was popular that you hated ten years ago?VinylGuy wrote:Blues Funeral deserves that spot..and its nice too see SG, Dinosaur jr, Cat Power and Fiona Apple.
Surprised with John Mayer...really guys?

When you get it, you'll thank us. Lanegan is great. Maybe Blues Funeral isn't the best introduction but this album being a top ranked release makes sense to me. Bland of Horses being top ten on the other hand....i got bugs wrote:jesus christ, the whole cd he just sings in that awful boring monotone voice.. i didnt hate it for a couple songs in the mad season cd but 2 tracks into this n im in a comaSoma. wrote:Out! This was my introduction to Lanegan as a solo artist and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Blues Funeral is a beautiful album.Fuzzcharger wrote:When you get it, you'll thank us. One quote I came across while reading a year end list, somewhere maybe Chunklet said something like "you can throw a rock in Australia and hit a better band than Tame Impala"Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:meaning you dont like them and you wish you hadnt heard them, or you do like them and wish you could listen to them for the first time again?conoalias wrote:I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't heard of Tame Impala.

Whiskey is my favourite but I can appreciate why ML may be a bit too dark and droney for others.i got bugs wrote:actually i have that whiskey for the holy ghost cd and its not terrible

This is not better than Tame Impala. This isn't even half as good as any of the 80s punk bands it tries to ape.super nintendo chalmers wrote:

I always felt Tame Impala were a less interesting version of Dungen who were doing a very simliar thing a few years previous.

I can stand it.
There are so many worthwhile bands down there. And a good lot of them are better than TI, in my opinion.
