yeah but that song, hell the whole album, belong to Mick Taylor. I remember being super amazed with his playing and my dad always told me he was better than Keith or Ronnie.

He is not a Ronnie guy at all.

Seems as though he anticipates getting back on the road after the pandemic.

Finally listened to the live sides of the Goats Head Soup box set. Pretty brilliant.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

All time favorite. I went for a long run once to this album and was enjoying it nicely - finishing the run was actually Shine a Light and I weirdly got choked up. Apparently I need to listen to music while running to get its full impact.

I watched this basically conversation about the singles era Stones (‘64-‘69), which got me to listening to some of the albums in that timeframe. I really love it. Just taking these blues songs and pop songs and adding their swagger while remaining true to those songs - it works on such a great level. It might not be their heyday yet, but it’s really great to back to from time to time.

I listened to Singles Collection: The London Years a ton one summer, it's just such a great collection of songs.

On my neighborhood walks I always pass a basketball goal that has a hand painted backboard with the Stones tongue logo. Also painted on there are the words "It's only Rock & Roll -- Stones 1974"

Never seen anyone hooping it up in that driveway but I've always wondered about that goal.

Stones rule - Exile is my favorite album of theirs. They just laid it all out there on that one. Sticky Fingers was the 1st Stones album I inherited from my dad back in '94. Mrs. Jam's favorite is Some Girls.

I love Black And Blue a bunch as well. Read in a book that BAB and LZ's Presence were recorded in the same studio in Munich back to back. Cool story there. Jimmy Page needed some extra time and Mick gave him 3 weeks but Jimmy finished everything in 3 days, if I remember correctly?

I quite like the Goat's Head Soup reissue they released last year. They've been dropping killer live stuff over the past decade that I've listened to a ton.

Select Album Rankings:

Exile On Main St.
Let It Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Beggar's Banquet
London Years
Some Girls
Black And Blue
Goat's Head Soup
It's Only Rock & Roll
