MadBum's game should be considered a no-hitter

I’m good with that, the Braves managed one hit in two games.

Wasnt there someone who took a no-hitter into the 10th and lost it there, and it didnt count as a no-hitter?

Correct. It didn’t count.

Pedro once brought a perfect game into the 10th and lost it. I also believe Rich Hill did something similar a few years ago.

We all know that Tigers pitcher (Gallaraga?) threw a no-no when the ump (Joyce?) fucked up the 27th out call at 1st base. That might have actually been a perfect game?

Not officially in the record books ... but we know.

I'm perfectly fine with an official no-hitter requiring both a complete game and at least nine innings.

Yeah. What if the pitcher does both but doesn't win the game? Thoughts?

i’m tempted to say that’s less worthy than a 7-inning no hitter...i just feel like the pitcher is being punished when the game length is shortened by rule

Is that even possible?

If you're the home team, then yeah. You can pitch a 9-inning no hitter and give up any number of runs.

In fact, it's happened once; here's the game log: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxe ... 4230.shtml

Sorry nevermind I was thinking perfect game not no-hitter

But maybe it could happen. 10-inning perfect game but in the 10th a runner starts on 2nd base. Maybe that guy steals two bases. Or scores on a sac fly.

i can’t remember if i was ever hit in little league...the one year i pitched i did hit a few in one inning though

my god that team was awful...myself and the coach’s son were pretty much tied as the best players...thus we didn’t win a single game
