So many great screams in Disc 2 of this compilation. Fucking love it. Oh man, the screaming intro to Breakerfall, so good.

I would love an entire album of stuff like the improv on CD1. Among other things it would solve the persistent issue of Eddie's bad singing.

I don't recall seeing this before, and was pleasantly surprised to see the link still active. Thanks - looks like a winner!

completely agree with this. The icing on the cake is that the Japan bootlegs are sound-wise among the best Pearl Jam has ever recorded.

It really is like pearl jam's version of REM's Live in Olympia made by Ridley. I wish I could of made a mix this good.

The show was mixed down, and slated to be the second dvd from the tour. Hopefully they release it at some point. Even though I was front row at that show, I would rather see video from Sendai, Osaka or Nagoya.lowlight79 wrote:The version of Indifference from Yokohama might be one of the best versions the band has ever played. Japan shows remain some of the best shows I’ve ever seen, shame they sold so poorly.

The fact that they sold poorly and the band embraced it in some ways make the shows so much more interesting 17 years later. This is band that can sell out stadiums in certain countires, but couldn't get more that 5,000 people to come see them in a part of Japan at the time.Jamhead64 wrote:The show was mixed down, and slated to be the second dvd from the tour. Listening to this for the first time now.
It really is excellent. I saw some of the early Australian shows in 2003, and know there are some great runs through the states in 03, but the rust was there to start the riot act tour. So I don't revisit the boots from those shows that often.
This compilation though, awesome. Thanks.

This is a great idea for a comp. Love the liner notes in the OP. My Tokyo boot used to get a lot of play. The atmosphere and mood in the room are weirdly timely after the year we all had.
