I dont remember how I powered myself up to beat them that one time because I must have hit minotaur like 500x and his energy was still at like 60%

I had every single death defiance too

I watched my buddy play a whole bunch and he favored the fists/dusters. That game is unbelievable.

I think my skills have nearly plateaued in one vs. one Rocket League and it's becoming increasingly frustrating to play night after night. Good time to throw a wrench in the gears with an engaging single player campaign. Probably going to play this for a while if I like it, then delve into Returnal.
It takes a bit for Days Gone to get going. Just an FYI.
I'm really struggling with Days Gone. I can't play it more than 3-5 minutes at a time without wishing I were playing a Last of Us game instead, and I turn it off and start up Rocket League again. It just looks and feels like a cheap, poor man's version of better games.

There are just so many open world adventure games these days and most of them play exactly the same way. Without a compelling story they usually have nothing to offer and despite great improvement over the years, most video game writing is still pretty substandard.

Yeah, and this one is introducing all these mechanics and explaining how to open this wheel and use that health item and it's just too much to learn all this shit when I've gotten used to other, better games' more simple, easy-to-use systems. And the story and characters do seem pretty dumb and contrived. I just don't have interest.

Video game writing is comically bad. I get that the average gamer is a dumbass, but come the fuck on.

It actually worked well when the visuals weren't photo-realistic. Now it's just jarring.

There's some good writing out there, but not in open world games.

I think Bioshock Infinite and Deus-Ex: Human Revolution had the best writing. I actually gave a shit, which is rare.

Horizon had a great story for an open world game.

This post is 15 years overdue - Okami is an excellent game. Just finished it this morning.

I always see this on sale, but never pull the trigger. What system did you play it on?

It's original release - PS2. It's on almost as many systems as Resident Evil 4.

Sweet. It can be overwhelming but don’t relent and you will be sufficiently rewarded for your exploits. And just breathe in the beauty of next gen in the meantime. Also don’t be ashamed to look up advice if you get stuck.

I played Bloodborne a few times so i'm at least familiar with the fundamentals. So far i've learned that checkpoints are not as common. I've yet to make it to my first one

Playing as the royalty class to start, since i saw that recommended for beginners. I'm liking the ranged magic so far.
