It really doesn't seem like a real evolution from the first DK games to Country. In the first games DK was the enemy, throwing barrels at a user controlled Mario-like character. For the Country games, the user controls completely different characters who happen to have the DK name. I would argue it's clear the first DK games are in no way related to Country, other than sharing the same name.CopperTom wrote:I view those early entries as the start of the evolution of the franchise.
