Connecticut is fully reopening May 19th, keeping only the mask mandate for indoor public places.

https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/loc ... n/2469574/

Gov. Ned Lamont announced that all restrictions for Connecticut businesses will be phased out by May 19.

The governor said all outdoor restrictions will be lifted starting May 1. Restaurants will be allowed to serve alcohol without food and there will no longer be a table size limit.

The curfew for businesses will be pushed back to 12 a.m. starting May 1, as well, Lamont said in a news conference Monday.

All other business restrictions will be phased out starting May 19, state officials said. These restrictions will include size limits and social distancing rules for businesses such as large event venues, bars and nightclubs.
Starting May 19, event venues and restaurants are among those businesses which can open at full capacity.
The governor said indoor masking will continue, however it is unclear whether it will be a "requirement" or "recommendation" by May 19. Lamont said he is in talks with other officials and will make that announcement before the complete rollback for Connecticut businesses next month.

"Probably we are going to require indoor masking a little bit longer unless you are vaccinated – in a crowed public place. But that’s it," Lamont said.

With every restriction that gets eased or discontinued, there will be a group who claims it was never worth it. I think masks have proved their worth. You kept saying we'd never stop wearing them, but I think most people knew it would be for a time, and that time would come sooner if people just did this very easy thing.

Agree. Verb, you appear to be ignoring the long process that got us to the point where the rules are becoming less necessary and focusing only on an emotionally driven subjective analysis of the current state, then tying that conclusion back to a arbitrarily chosen initial state absent it's context and developmental history. You're basically a COVID leftist.

This was a good response to Verb's question, so I just want to add that "common sense" was also an acceptable answer.

I mean, we are at 574k Covid deaths as of today. This is with mask mandates in most places, life slowing down a bit, and other restrictions. At this point you would have to argue that people covering their nose & mouth, thereby reducing some/most of the airborne germs from entering your body, made absolutely no difference. I don't get it.

i dont think the media did that. this was a serious pandemic (as if there are others) and he took it very lightly and did almost next to nothing to stop it until he realized it could cost him the election. had any president treated it the same way the media coverage would have been the same

All the dates on those links seem to have an endpoint of late summer. Did they realize they couldn't jerk themselves off over cotton face coverings anymore when cases exploded again in the fall?

Am I allowed to admit that I'm dreading the thought of being fully vaccinated but having to wear a mask while I try to teach next school year?
