Am I allowed to admit that I'm dreading the thought of being fully vaccinated but having to wear a mask while I try to teach next school year?
Yes, it's fine to feel however you'd like. Just don't be a massive prick about it.

No, masks stopped working this past September.

It's just weird to me that the whole "fuck masks" argument is based on Fauci & the surgeon general making a mistake last year - a huge messaging mistake that they have admitted to, and ended up with the result we knew it would.

How do you explain the same trajectories in states with completely different mitigation approaches?

I don’t think the trajectories are all the same. Different states have different circumstances. Florida can be a bit loose because it’s summer there year round. Michigan shows it can get out of control for a while irrespective of what’s going on elsewhere. At the end of the day, you’re the one arguing that covering your face (the two holes in your body that usually take in the germs) does nothing to help.

And to be clear no one here has ever argued it’s the end all be all. No one ever argued it solves Covid. It’s called mitigation. It’s one easy thing we can do to “slow the spread” so things like treatment and vaccines can help us get back to normal. Why is this not easy?

couldn't this simply be explained by a bunch of vaccine needing to be pulled out of circulation? seems more time's needed here, once J&J is back in circulation.

If you stick to the front of the classroom, assuming there is a fair distance, would you consider dropping the mask and using a face-shield? I do this when I started running tours again at the brewery.

edit: dropping the mask as in pulling it down to your chin available to put back on in close proximity to others.

When should we? March 2022. When will we? May 2021.

We will probably ditch them by mid to end of summer, right or wrong.

If it also means the end of the pandemic on a large scale, I can not wait.

Our school district has a no face mask or gaitor policy currently. I would prefer either of those to a mask. I mean, really, I'd hope that I can just be a person, but if not hopefully they adjust that policy. *shrug*
