Mogwai - As the Love Continues
I gushed about this album in the Mogwai thread a few weeks back, and it's only gotten better from there. There's a few bumps along the way, but this is a surprisingly consistent album for these guys who have still been churning out plenty of really good songs, but have been a bit patchy when stringing together whole albums for a while. This is vibrant mostly-instrumental rock that mines copiously from Mogwai's broad arsenal of stylistic tics as well as draws in a few newer influences for good measure.

Fully digging on this today. It is grand.

Crumb have a new song out called "Trophy" (https://crumbtheband.bandcamp.com/track/trophy) and there's presumably an album to follow later in the year. Fans of Pram, Broadcast, or other such artists might enjoy these guys.

Update for the new album announcement, Ice Melt, out April 30. Last week Crumb also put out two more songs from the album, "BNR" and "Balloon," so there's three songs out to preview it.

Are you usually a 'gwai fan, Higgs, or are you relatively new to them? I see you posted the "Dry Fantasy" video months back, but I can't recall if you've posted about them before.

Mogwai are a band I have a casual relationship with. I have checked out a lot of their stuff over time but don't actively revisit it seems. I'll usually tend to check out their releases though.

Having said that, "Auto Rock" is one of my fave tunes from anyone.

Enjoying this album as a whole listen, it sits in my work-day sweet spot so to speak.

Gave that new Mogwai a listen today and made it halfway through the new Dino Jr. album earlier this week. I haven't been keeping up with 2021 music too much thus far. Need to give that Billy Eilish a try.

The Mogwai album is the most I've enjoyed Mogwai since Happy Songs for Happy People. Has everything to do with my headspace right now.
