We have a package through Spectrum for their highest speed internet + a streaming bundle for ~$100/mo. Includes all the usual cable channels, locals, and regional Fox sports channels (WI and MN for us). They have an Apple TV app. Quality can be shitty sometimes, but we're happy with it overall.

If it wasn't for the Celtics I'd drop it too. I'd just get the NBA package but they'd be blacked out. My kids don't watch it at all. My wife just watches the stuff I could get with Discovery plus for $4 or whatever. It's a waste but I'm stuck.

I'd pay $5 a month during baseball season for NESN, I have no idea why they don't offer a standalone subscription. Almost certainly the cable companies block them from doing this.

The guide for YouTube TV on fire tv/firestick is one of the clunkiest ever. I hate it. Sometimes if you go to a channel, then go back to the guide, it starts you at the beginning of the guide instead of at the channel you are on

One of the downsides of not having channel numbers and having to constantly use a guide to channel surf.

Still, YouTube TV is great.

Yeah, the more I thought about it, I would definitely pay more. I am sure MLB would not allow it. MLB.tv does a single-team package for like $110 (so closer to $20 per month), but I'd rather get the home station.

Yeah you can't even get the single team package from mlb.tv in the market of the team you want.

YoutubeTv added some more Viacom channels today so if your tv guide is customized like mine you'll have to manually add them if you want to see them.

Does FIOS have a YouTube tv equivalent?

A little nervous about the YouTube TV Roku dispute. I guess I could try Hulu Live.

It's only a matter of time until someone drops Hulu Live and then the whole song and dance starts over again.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
