Blanton's is great. But I've never paid more than $50 for a bottle and I can't imagine that I ever would.

Re: Whisky, Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon
I shoot for 13-15% liquor COGS menu wide. At roughly $2.94 a pour I'd have to charge around $20 a pour to hit that for the bottle. If we were a nicer place I could get away with charging that or more, but luckily we have a lot of loss leaders on the menu so I can probably get away with charging a little less. Maybe $15. Our highest priced liquor currently is Macallan 12 @ $14 a pour and it just sits there. I like it that way. Never runs out so it's there when people need it.doug rr wrote:what will you charge? liquor stores that have them here are mostly around $200..there is an international grocery store that carries them occasionally and they charge around $110 a bottlewashing machine wrote:We're getting a bottle of Blanton's for the bar. Re: Whisky, Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon
We sold 147 units of Jameson last week. 3% of total sales for a $42000 sales week. Second only to Crown Royal in the whiskey/whisky category. That number doesn't even count its usage in green tea shots, of which Jamo is the main ingredient. When the Astros are in town, I think we go through two or three cases of Jameson a week. I should charge more.doug rr wrote:damnwashing machine wrote:$16doug rr wrote:what do you charge for a double jameson neat?washing machine wrote:I shoot for 13-15% liquor COGS menu wide. The dive down the street from us probably charges about that. They don't have anything close to the expenses that we do. It's $30.97 wholesale btw.doug rr wrote:the local dives here are about $11 for a double...how much is your cost for a bottle?washing machine wrote:We sold 147 units of Jameson last week. 3% of total sales for a $42000 sales week. Probably has everything to do with the millions of Texas liquor laws on the books.

yeah most likely...whats the reason behind crown being the big seller? a lot of canadians down there or just added to coke?
