Blanton's is great. But I've never paid more than $50 for a bottle and I can't imagine that I ever would.

It's so wild how that happens.

I hope I have a few more years of Uncle Nearest being relatively inexpensive.

I shoot for 13-15% liquor COGS menu wide. At roughly $2.94 a pour I'd have to charge around $20 a pour to hit that for the bottle. If we were a nicer place I could get away with charging that or more, but luckily we have a lot of loss leaders on the menu so I can probably get away with charging a little less. Maybe $15. Our highest priced liquor currently is Macallan 12 @ $14 a pour and it just sits there. I like it that way. Never runs out so it's there when people need it.

We sold 147 units of Jameson last week. 3% of total sales for a $42000 sales week. Second only to Crown Royal in the whiskey/whisky category. That number doesn't even count its usage in green tea shots, of which Jamo is the main ingredient. When the Astros are in town, I think we go through two or three cases of Jameson a week. I should charge more.

The dive down the street from us probably charges about that. They don't have anything close to the expenses that we do. It's $30.97 wholesale btw.

Probably has everything to do with the millions of Texas liquor laws on the books.
