Imagine falling for the same prank every single day of your entire working life.

I’m in the middle of moving, and glad for the distraction. Watching Democrats never learn a thing about how this goes sucks.

D: “We need a bipartisan commission to look into what happened on Jan six.”

R: “Yes, we agree. But ‘bipartisan’ means we get equal representation.”

D: “Okay.”

R: “And equal subpoena power.”

D: “Okay.”

R: “And the power to overrule subpoenas.”

D: “Okay.”

R: “And input on all staff selections.”

D: “Okay.”

R: “We are shutting this partisan commission down.”

D: “Uh. Shit. So can we talk about this infrastructure bill?”

R: “It’s too big. We can agree to giving you 5% of this.”

D: “How about if we cut it down to 80%?”

R: “13%, but 8% of that is existing funds.”

D: “That’s still 5% tho. How about if we go to 60%?”

R: “13%.”

D: “50%?”

R: “13% lol I can’t believe you’re doing this”

It's almost as if they do it deliberately so they don't have to actually pass progressive legislation, but can say they tried.

I didn't even notice that it was from the onion. The contradictory title seemed likely enough.

It’s pretty good Onion. I almost posted it myself the first time I saw it.

If Trump losing means the Onion can be funny again, maybe it was worth it. Babylon Bee was going to get complacent without competition.
