I have 10, and I know what my first-round draft pick will be.

I assume animals are not things in the chudverse?

Non living things only. I wonder if our top pick is the same.

5 or 6, it can't get out of control. Everyone should have to decide if they want to do a balance between some "iconic" items and some esoteric ones, or whether they want to lean just one way; too many rounds, people can just horde things, ya know?

I have a 2nd round pick picked out, too, but I'm afraid it's too closely related to the 1st round, and I bet it'll be picked already, too. I feel like I've already given too much away!

Can you explain the rules a bit clearer? You already vetoed "buildings" which is a non-living thing.

I took "artifact" to mean something that a character could carry around, something that can be touched and transferred between characters, but not something that has a mind of its own. Something that carries meaning but can't create meaning, you know? I think buildings are a little bit too massive for the word "artifact," and they can carry way more meanings than an artifact can (for the most part); for example, the Power Plant has a different meaning for Mr. Burns than it does for Mr. Smithers, and it's got a whole different meaning for Homer. Moe's has a different meaning for Moe than it does for Barney. But artifacts only really hold a meaning for whoever's holding onto them at that moment, if they're ever transferred between characters. Does that make any sense? I don't want to use examples that might give away my draft order/preferences.

To be honest, now that I'm thinking about it, we could probably do a Simpsons Animals tournament.

I only have one artifact on my list that I'm not sure qualifies; it doesn't fit the definition I gave a few posts above, but I think it has enough "Thingness" to qualify.

Pretty much this. Buildings are just too big for what I had in mind here. You can't pick the Simpsons home. You can't pick the Simpsons kitchen. But you can pick the corn curtains in the kitchen.
