With that said, I agree that Nolan went way too far up his own ass with this one.
i feel similarly...i watched it last night with a few others who were trying a little too hard to understand it - pausing and going back a few seconds here and there...at one point i said "hey brothers, i think we all grasp the idea but let's try not to figure out the mechanics"

would have preferred someone better in the lead role though, no doubt

How did you feel about my boy R Patz in the supporting role?

Robbie Pitter Patter is one hell of an actor. I still can't believe the performance he pulled off in The King.

That performance was straight up bonkers.

Loved him in Lost City of Z as well.

Too bad we don’t have a 20’s category in the tournament amirite
Mortal Kombat (2021) would rip the spinal column from the The Kid (1921)

i'm on hold with the illinois tollway and the music playing while i'm on hold has a superficial resemblance to some of the score from In the Mood For Love. and now i may rewatch that and bunch of other things from wong kar-wai

My wife has been giving me a guided tour of 90s romcoms this year. So far we've seen:

You've Got Mail - Pretty bad. Tom Hanks is a monster in this. Completely destroys Meg Ryan's life and then uses AOL to gaslight her into falling for him? And that's a happy ending? I'd watch a psychological thriller that begins where this movie ends, with Ryan and Kinnear reconnecting to take down the Fox Books empire from inside. 2/5

My Best Friend's Wedding - This was fun. I'm not a Julia Roberts fan, but she's pretty likeable in this. Dermot Mulroney is the weak spot, as always. Just a complete dud of an actor. 3.5/5

I think While You Were Sleeping is next.

I’m still on my run through the years. Not started on 1982 yet, and have some movies left from the years before it.

Decided to go a bit further back and add Rosemary’s Baby and Midnight Cowboy as well.

Starting Rosemary’s Baby now. Seen it twice, and only a couple of years since last time.

Only seen Midnight Cowboy once, and can’t remember much of it.

I hope you've all seen Akira and Oldboy (2003).

It's Park Chan-Wook. Or Chan-Wook Park if we're speaking 'murican. They lead with the surname which is silly.
