We're talking about the colossal first round pick of Quentin Tarantino.

I respect the Reservoir Dogs > Pulp take. Don’t totally agree with it but it’s a damn fine debut film, and the share many of the same elements.

Jackie Brown has more heart and soul than maybe all of his other movies combined, but it’s simultaneously lacking in his usually edginess. A unique entry into his filmography.
A lot of that heart and soul from Jackie Brown comes from both Pam Grier and Robert Forster. They are amazing. and QT being in such a different moment from his career and life.

What an amazing movie.

Yeah that movie rules. Kills a few birds with one stone in terms of cast too.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

i debated this one -- i just bought the definitive edition on Blu-Ray last week! But my sense is that I like this movie way more than everyone else?

While we're on the topic, the Rewatchables shared some fascinating backstory on this: Apparently in the original script, Pacino's character is concealing a heavy cocaine habit throughout the film. But it all got cut once they edited for the shooting script. But Pacino felt like he had done all the work to create this character and the cocaine backstory, so he just decided to keep it in his performance and pretend it was all happening off-screen. It explains a LOT of his choices. :haha:
Heat is a top 5 for me. It blew my mind back in 1995. And yes, its well known that he went for the cocaine backstory and its fucking incredible.
