I think Ruddo’s biggest weakness is the 60s and 70s. Two all timers there, and his team would have been really good.

I mean, Lady Snowblood is criterion worthy and the other is the greatest Bond film of all time.

Also really surprised with all the self proclaimed cinephiles in here that Lady Snowblood isn't more well known/appreciated.

I'm not a cinephile. There are many movies considered all time greats I haven't seen, including many on these lists. I'm just voting from my current somewhat ignorant perspective.

Goldfinger is a fine Bond movie, second best Bond of its decade for me, but there are lots better 60s movies.

Lady Snowblood was an interesting choice, but think you could have done better with a more mainstream movie.

Only real issue I have with Joey's team is the Nickelodeon pick. Otherwise, a really strong team. Sicario was a fun movie but a whiff for me given all the options in the past decade.

Goldfinger is not the best Bond movie. Top 3 yes, but not the best
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

We seem to be tied. Anybody else want to vote? I guess we'll keep this open for a while longer.

Wow, super late surge in the final hour.

Congrats, Ruddo!

I suspect foul play, but can't prove it.

Yeah I think having the same vote total differential for several days and then it suddenly changes with half an hour to go doesn't exactly scream legit. But whatever. Ruddo's got a great team. No shame in losing to him.

Joey's a top-three team for me, this is a fucking outrage.

Imagine how great it could have been if Sailor hadn't snaked Alien from me or if I'd decided The Godfather wasn't too easy and boring of a 70's pick!

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Godfather would have made Joey #1 for me, I think.

I'm sure a lot of folks see Kendrick as a weakness--she's no Kate Winslet, for sure, but she's not the worst actor pick in this tournament.

I really wanted Alien. Sailor really fucked my shit up when he grabbed that one.

I will never not vote on a pick because it's "easy" or predictable. If it's great, it's great. You hipsters are too much sometimes.

Honestly, that's the best way to play it. I think I got in my own head there. The Godfather is a great movie and great pick.

I hope you can take this lesson and apply it to the next tournament.
