Its fine, I'm sure all the lotteries and free beer will make up for the year of ill will from the lying about masks (the science didnt change much, just lied due to outdated stigma and then supply chain concerns), unecessary shutdowns (closing parks and outdoor dining not to significantly reduce risk but to 'send a message' that this is seriousl, etc. But right, its all about the science. They've massaged the message into being unreliable.

I get this perspective, but I disagree with it. We were operating against a new and unknown virus and with any unknown opponent its better to be overly cautious and fight extra hard to live to feel silly afterwards than to lose and regret it forever.
The messaging has sucked though.
