Not my ranking, but it's perfectly acceptable.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Both Rogue and Revenge are really good movies.

Yes they are. I have physical copies of my top 5 SW movies - the O/T, Revenge & Rogue or (in chronological order) Revenge, Rogue, Hope, Empire, Jedi.

Oh, I forgot Solo - I enjoyed that movie, but had a hard time buying the dude they cast for the lead role. But, we saw Han before he became super cynical. He just lacked that *Ford Suave* Had they done Solo as a series and/or spaced it out between the Rey story, it probably would've done a bit better. Oversaturation had set in at that point.

I don't think Last Jedi was as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. The inconsistencies in the writing for the sequels just drag it down.
Rise of Skywalker was a visual delight, but once we started discussing on the way home, the story beats just fell completely apart. I also hated how they apparently caved to SM Shippers with Kylo and Rey and the "Kiss Before Dying" meh. But - I really thought they wasted an opportunity to have the big bad be Darth Plagueis. Palpatine perfectly sat that up in Revenge. Too bad that book got expunged from canon - it was a dark and seriously interesting read.

It is funny - that once I look at it, my favorites outside of the OT are the stories that expanded upon the world building within it. That's why I love Rogue and Mando - we get to see how people outside of "Force Sensitivity" were dealing with the regime and it's downfall/ change.

All that being said - there will always be a love for SW for me - Empire was my 1st theater experience at the age of 4. I've just taken a couple of steps back - Disney oversaturated the market with so much merch - which everyone knew they would.

edit: Oh yeah - ANOTHER thing I forgot about that I'm excited for: The Book of Boba Fett

Palpatine perfectly set up Plagueuis as the big bad. But he didn't set up himself as the big bad? One of those things is cool and well supported but the other is lame and lazy and forced?

It means the Emperor's presence in TRoS is la ... fuck it, nevermind. I enjoyed my post.

Right... Your reply proves my point.

It's like if I said, "Sometimes people say the sky is too blue."

And then you replied, "Just like the sky, amirite?"

I mean... I mean, what the fuck, B?

No - I just really wanted Plagueis instead and am salty that they removed that book from cannon. I think they released too much too soon and it heightened the burnout factor for fans like me. I had so many heated arguments with my Brother in law defending Last Jedi and needed more time between the movies. :haha:

But - what was the entire point behind 3PO's memory wipe?

Or the Chewbacca fakeout? Cheap thrills, like the rest of the movie.

In story: His programming prevented him from translating the Sith language.
Real reason: They need a cool shot of C-3P0 with evil Sith eyes for the trailer.

Oh man, that Chewbacca takeout was so bad. You knew right away it didn't really happen because they spent zero time on the fact that "Chewbacca died".

That jive fucked me up. I also got accused of trying to sneak into my initial viewing because I couldn't remember which email my wife used by our local yokel theater employee. And Fandango wouldn't refund or switch tickets. When I did see it the next day, I was more in the mood for Knives Out.

It could be one of those movies that I revisit a few years from now and am like "What was I thinking?" It was highly entertaining, I just had some "extenuating circumstances" that most likely seems to have affected my experience looking back on it.

Nah.

Endgame isn't really my bag. I'll take Rise all day everyday.

But it also seems weird too compare them.
