"None" can be used with both singular or plural verb forms.

Joe West uses it in plural form. And Pete.

Baseball sucks because its priorities are all out of whack. Consider that Sammy Sosa hit over 600 career home runs, helped baseball come back from the ashes after the cancelled World Series, and is one of the all-time greatest Cubs, but is not even allowed at Wrigley Field to sing the fricking 7th inning stretch. Meantime, Joe West is being honored tonight for umping the most games ever, even though he’s one of the worst umps ever, everybody hates him, and the only things he’s ever done to make it this long are (1) having an umpire Union protect him throughout his career, and (2) not dying.

That’s why baseball sucks little Tommy.
Sammy Sosa is definitely part of the problem with the game today, since Sammy was one of the home run or nothing prototypes that is now dominating the game. so yes, he should be banned from baseball.

The commissioner that loved what Sammy Sosa did and encouraged it was inducted into the baseball hall of fame.

Aren’t we supposed to be in an era where science geeks are running baseball organizations and wouldn’t they value things like on base percentage?

That’s friggin awesome. Thanks for that.

I came here to talk Mike Schildt today who apparently thinks the league office cares about cheating now that his pitcher had to change his hat.

Hitters dont get paid to "hit" anymore they get paid to swing for the fences through the shift, so that's what they are going to do. When organizations start valuing good hitters again you'll see more of them.

Isn’t there at least one budding young outlier Tony Gwinn somewhere though?

He will be told to muscle up and become a power hitter.
