Definitely avoid versions played during part of the '03 tour where they let Boom solo in that middle section. Fucking horrific.
That was horrendous. His solo was not compatible with the chords at all. Just a mess.
I echo Boston 8/30/00 -- that's my go-to live version, love the prominence of the guitar harmonies in the outro.

This is the content I come to RM for. And this "solo" added to one of my top five PJ songs is probably the worst part of the live at the garden DVD. And I watched the crap out of that back in the day.
I'm going through random 2013 boots, listening to select songs, wondering how 2013 PJ sounds on various songs. I'm pleasantly surprised. Some good shit here.
And yes those 03 versions are ruined by the b00mer
I think the fact that they completely re-arranged the song - and not for the better - is the worst offense that version has to offer - Boom is only the turd on top.

It loses all momentum the original had, such a shame

Its like they thought it could replace hail, hail in the setlist.

It's just a boneheaded riff and something they can play in their sleep. Set list filler during the initial blast of rockers.

Columbus 2000 was the first boot I bought and it was always super disappointing that they didn't always sound that crisp. Mike was really strong during those Midwest dates in Indy, Cincy ect.
I wish I could see Gods Dice live. I have seen Sweet Lew... twice! Bugs, Whip It, U, even covers of People Have the Power, Black Diamond (w/Ace Frehley), Driven to Tears twice (once w/Sting)...no Gods Dice.
